David Ross - Chief Executive Officer

The CEO of Compete-At, David Ross, was also the Founder, CEO, and head designer of Outback Bicycles and the Outback Bicycles Pro-team.  The company produced Outback branded triathlon, mountain, road, and track frames as well as contract and prototype work for other manufacturers.  In addition, David was a participant in the 1992 and 1996 USA Archery Olympic Trials and his father was a 1976 Olympian in shooting and formerly served on the USOC’s Budget & Audit Committee.

Charles S. Jennings - Chief Financial Officer

 

Mike Vanderbilt - Chief Operating Officer

Mike Vanderbilt serves as Compete-At's COO, responsible for product development and operations management. Mike’s has competition experience has varied over the years. In college he competed in gymnastics and mountain biking. After college Mike's love of cycling continued grow and he began competing in all disciplines of mountain biking (cross country, downhill, and cyclo-cross) while also working in the industry by managing a regional racing team and working in both retail stores and frame manufacturing. Over the past 7 years Mike has been crewing on a sailboat racing team (www.usa52201) and has competed in several offshore events including two New Bermuda Races. Mike's newest passion if off-road motorcycle racing and plans to competing in the upcoming Baja 500 and the 2009 Red Bull Romaniacs. His ultimate goal as a competitor is to one day compete in and finish the Dakar Rally.

Tom Berger - Chief Marketing Officer

Tom Berger is the Chief Marketing Officer at Compete-At.com responsible for the company's overall go-to-market strategy. Prior to assuming this role in January 2007, Tom served as the Director of Web Marketing at Ciena Corporation. With over 15 years of marketing experience, Tom leads Compete-At's global marketing and sales efforts.

Boyd Tomkies - Sailing, Fishing - Director of Market Development

Boyd Tomkies serves as the Director of Market Development for the worldwide sailing market. Boyd is a native new zealander, an ex-professional sailor, and has competed in a number of world championships, from Maxi’s to Tornado’s. Additionally, Boyd has completed one "around the world" race. With a passion for adventure, Boyd has backpacked all over the world including climbing to base camp at Sagarmatha National Park in Nepal, the trek/adventure included hitching on an ex-russian military helicopter.

Brian Parsons - Curling - Director of Market & Business Development

Brian joined the Compete-At team as Director of Market Development after serving as the Olympic Teams Director of USA Canoe/Kayak. Prior to that, Brian was a financial analyst and stock broker in Washington, D.C. He was a US National Team member in the sport of whitewater slalom kayaking and now enjoys competitive curling and golf.

John Torgerson - Fishing, Archery, Sailing- Director of Market Development

John Torgerson is the Director of Sales and Marketing for Compete-At’s Fishing and Archery markets. John attended Old Dominion University where he was inducted in to the Hall of Fame in 2006. John was also the 1998 Old Dominion Alumni Association Male Athlete of the year, 3 time Collegiate All-American and 3 time National Champion.

John was the #1 ranked sailor on the U.S. men's national team in the Laser class and has competed in two Olympic Trials.

Chris Lowry - Golf - Director of Market Development Eastern US

Chris joined Compete-At in February of 2008 and serves as the Director of Market Development for the Golf market for the eastern United States. Chris has more than two decades of experience in both the sales and golf industries. Prior to joining Compete-At, Chris held the position of Sales Manager at Honor Foods, Inc., a food redistribution company. Previously, he spent 15 years in the golf industry. A former member of the PGA of America, Chris brings extensive experience in golf tournament management as both an administrator and competitor.
